The U.S. just rolled out a new move: the CFTC’s Reg CAM framework! Crypto exchanges can now “voluntarily” submit to federal oversight to avoid the hassle of applying for licenses state by state.
But here’s the catch: this framework only targets those who like leverage and margin trading (Margin/Futures). As for Spot traders (spot trading) who don’t use leverage, you’re in the clear—you’re outside its scope! The CFTC says it’s seeking public comments, but it’s not yet clear whether exchanges will agree to “get in line.”
