$GTC
Price is up 10.19% over the past 24 hours, with $154.9M in trading volume.
Funding rate: -0.2912%/8h.
Price is rising, but the funding rate is negative. Most positions in the market are shorts, paying the longs.
This isn’t sentiment. It’s fuel.
GTC is a project most people only heard about a few days ago. I’m not going to give you an encyclopedia-style intro.
For small-cap coins, there’s only one thing to talk about—when money’s there, the story’s there. A coin with no money behind it has nothing but a story.
Market signals
In 3 days, price climbed 68%, from a low of 0.18765 to a high of 0.315.
Three waves. On 10-17, the first wave surged to 0.264; on 10-18, the second reached 0.283; and on 10-19, the third hit 0.315, a new 30-candle high.
With every pullback, the low moved higher: 0.18765, 0.22266, 0.24018, 0.27701.
It’s the cleanest kind of structure: higher lows, higher highs, and the trendline hasn’t broken once.
Pre-calculated support is 0.22219; resistance is 0.315. Price is right below resistance now, just over 10% off the high.
Market sentiment
The funding rate is negative. Mark price is 0.28309, basically in line with the latest price—no premium.
Everyone watching the chart thinks it’s going up, but most people holding positions are betting on a drop.
That gap is what fuels a short squeeze.
The heavier the shorts, the harder the squeeze upward. Each push higher forces shorts to cut their losses, and those buy orders become the fuel for the next leg up.
The one risk: if price really does fall back, the short squeeze could turn into a long liquidation cascade and reverse the trend.
That’s why my stop is based on the chart, not the funding rate.
Whale activity
During the base-building days, not a single 4-hour candle had volume above $8M.
On 10-17 at 04, the first wave kicked off with a $41.7M candle. One candle did the work of 10 base-building candles.
Big money started buying around 0.215 and kept buying all the way to 0.24.
The 10-19 at 00 candle made a new high on $45.6M in volume—the heaviest of the 30 candles.
For a small-cap coin, a $45M candle isn’t something retail traders can pull off.
Big money came in during the first wave, and it hasn’t left yet.
Volume and price structure
The rhythm: rallies come with rising volume; declines come with falling volume.
The 10-19 at 04 pullback candle closed at 0.28181, and volume had already come down.
The latest candle’s volume ratio is 0.56, less than 60% of the average for the previous 20 candles.
Rallies have volume, declines don’t—the selling pressure is fading. This isn’t distribution; it’s a breather.
24-hour volume of $154.9M accounts for more than a third of the 5-day total. The money only really started coming in over these past three days.
Candlestick details
Remember these three upper wicks.
10-14 at 12: opened at 0.193, spiked to 0.23992, and closed at 0.21234. Volume: $27.2M.
It was a test that got knocked back, followed by two days of base-building.
First wave on 10-17: high of 0.2642, close of 0.24055, with a 10% upper wick.
The next day, the second wave completely reclaimed 0.2642.
Third wave on 10-19: high of 0.315, close of 0.29111.
The 10-19 at 04 candle pushed to 0.30799 but couldn’t break 0.315. Momentum started to slow.
If the next wave takes out the upper wick at 0.315, wave four begins.
If it can’t, watch out for a double top.
Nini’s plan
My view: bullish bias.
Current price: 0.2829.
As long as price stays above 0.240, the main thesis remains unchanged: short squeeze, negative funding, and a volume-backed trend.
0.277 is the first hurdle; 0.260 is the second.
A high-volume break above 0.315 opens the door to wave four. I’ll set a target after the breakout—no making one up in advance.
If 0.240 breaks, I’m out.
0.222 is the lifeline. If it breaks, the chart from these past 3 days is invalidated.
Don’t chase when the funding rate is negative.
Two entry points: wait for a pullback to 0.277-0.260, or wait for 0.315 to be taken out.
Position first, emotions second.
