【BTC rebounds to $83,000—short sellers, don’t rush to throw in the towel】

$BTC has climbed back above $83,000, giving the bulls some breathing room, but don’t rush to call a reversal. On October 15, Bitcoin briefly fell to around $80,000. It has now rebounded above $82,000, suggesting there is still support at lower levels.

The problem is that selling pressure was hardly absent in recent days. From October 10 to 16, around $620 million in BTC futures positions were liquidated, about $440 million of which were long positions. Over the same period, open interest rose by approximately 1.48%. This shows that leveraged positions are still vying for the upper hand, so a price rebound alone shouldn’t be mistaken for a major influx of spot-market funds.

I’m mainly watching two levels: whether Bitcoin can hold above $83,000, and whether it can reclaim the area around $84,000. Holding the first level would give the rebound a foundation; breaking through the second, accompanied by stronger spot demand, would look more like a trend recovery.

It’s reasonable to be a little more optimistic now, but it’s still too early to blindly chase longs. If the price quickly falls back below $82,000, or even retests $80,000, this breakout may turn out to be just a bounce within a range.
