U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin and Ether funds recorded net outflows of $549 million over the past week, another sign that liquidity continues to flow out of two of the market’s largest digital asset funds.

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin funds saw outflows of about $229 million, while Ether withdrawals were higher at $320 million. This reflects continued pressure on spot funds, with Ether remaining the hardest hit over the week.

These figures mark the second consecutive week of outflows from Bitcoin funds and the third for Ether funds. Although the pace of withdrawals slowed compared with the previous week, they remained substantial after the funds recorded a combined $1.22 billion in net outflows the week before.

What do these flows mean for the market?

Spot fund flows are a direct indicator of investor appetite because they reflect capital entering or leaving the investment product itself, and therefore changes in daily demand for the underlying asset. When outflows widen, they can put pressure on short-term liquidity and weaken buying power in the market.

For Ether, the picture has been clearer in October. Spot Ether ETFs have recorded about $955 million in net outflows so far this month, the highest monthly outflow total this year.

In terms of prices, ETH fell about 5% over the past seven days to around $2,433, while Bitcoin dropped 1.3% to $82,783 at the time the data was published, according to CoinGecko data.

Despite these withdrawals, Bitcoin and Ether funds remain in positive territory year to date in 2026. Bitcoin funds have attracted about $259 million in net inflows since the start of the year, while Ether funds have drawn around $610 million.

Broader movement in digital asset funds

Outflows were not limited to Bitcoin and Ether. Solana funds recorded about $26 million in net outflows during the week, followed by Zcash at $19 million and Hyperliquid at $18 million.

XRP and BNB funds also saw smaller outflows, of $1.8 million and $285,000, respectively, according to the same data.

These figures show that spot ETF flows remain an important factor in gauging investor sentiment, particularly when withdrawals continue for several consecutive weeks. While the pace of outflows slowed compared with the previous week, their continuation remains worth watching for its potential impact on liquidity and short-term market momentum.
