According to Jin10, Qatar Deputy Prime Minister Al Thani said Qatar had maintained open channels of communication with Iran despite attacks on Qatari territory and differences over regional conflicts. He said the two countries had built a relationship based on trust before the attacks and were jointly developing a natural gas field. Al Thani said they had not experienced any conflict before June last year, referring to Iran’s retaliatory action in 2025 after the United States struck Iranian nuclear facilities. Asked about the attack on Qatar’s Ras Laffan gas facilities, he said Doha was surprised and had since communicated with Tehran. “We have never stopped communicating,” he said, adding that the two countries remained in contact at different levels and had reached some understandings despite their differences.
