Technical principles | Rollup submits a result, but why does the mainnet trust that it’s correct?
Many fraud proofs use an interactive dispute process: both parties narrow down the scope of their disagreement step by step, until the mainnet only needs to re-execute one step to determine who is right.
Validity proofs take the approach of “prove first, then verify.” Correctness relies on the cryptographic proof itself, but generating the proof requires considerable computation.
$ARB is the governance token of Arbitrum, an Optimistic Rollup network that uses fraud proofs. It is currently at 0.1974.
Knowledge can help you avoid some pitfalls, but it can’t replace risk management.
