About hash functions:
For common Bitcoin P2PKH and P2WPKH addresses, the public key is first hashed with SHA-256, then with RIPEMD-160, producing a 160-bit public key hash.
The block header records the hash of the previous block. Changing any historical block changes its hash, causing all subsequent blocks to no longer match.
