A quick crypto lesson 📚 EIP-1559 fee mechanism
The base fee is burned in full, rather than being paid to the validator who produces the block; only the priority fee goes to the validator who includes the transaction.
The target gas usage for each block is half the gas limit, and the base fee can change by at most 12.5% per block.
Don't laugh—I only learned this the hard way, too.
Under EIP-1559, the base fee paid for each Ethereum transaction is $ETH , and it is burned.
