How to trade contracts short-term today: let’s talk about the framework

When trading contracts, I only look at crowdedness, not chat group messages.

Check crowdedness first when sizing positions, then look at price.

BTC open interest notional: $7.82 billion, 24h +2.48%
Long/short ratio across all accounts: 1.66
BTC 82687 (+1.04%), ETH 2425 (+0.30%).

Open interest is up +2.48% over 24h while price is up +1.04%—that’s a rise with positions being added, not short covering. Profit-taking could cause a pullback.

Key levels: 83,348 above, 81,199 below. Keep one-way exposure under 2x account equity. Place stop-losses beyond the market structure, not at round-number levels that just feel right.

Open interest is already up +2.48% over 24h. Only if it drops again while price holds above the 24h low can we say the shakeout is over—not yet.

Data: Binance Spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing data is not filled in.
Would you dare add to your position at this funding rate?

Takeaway: BTC settlement finality relies on the longest chain, not on who in the group chat is first to call a rally.
Insight: When whales’ long/short ratio is clearly higher than the all-account ratio, you can follow the direction, but don’t go all in.
