I’m not really buying the claim that “long-side leverage is being flushed out.” $KORUB was just one short position being liquidated, worth $242,000, with a size of 20,889 and an average price of 11.5856. The current price has already returned to 11.57, almost right below the liquidation price. The 24-hour gain is 11.46%; that move happened before this liquidation was recorded—it wasn’t caused by it. One isolated liquidation can show that someone got wiped out, but it doesn’t show that the flush is still ongoing, much less that there’s a whole line of shorts waiting to be liquidated. If leverage were really being flushed out across the board, wouldn’t the price have kept going instead of stalling here just after passing the average price?
