Seeing “BTC leads inflows, while ETH leads outflows” is no reason to rush to a conclusion about market direction 🙂
According to a TokenPost report by Riza Dagoc published on October 18, 2026, at 11:46 UTC, citing data from Cryptometer, BTC saw inflows of approximately $100.42 million. ETH appeared on both the inflow and outflow lists, with approximately $5.6 million in inflows and $8.92 million in outflows, respectively.
My observation: These figures suggest that inflows are more concentrated in BTC, but they are not enough to confirm a trend. The activity on both sides for ETH also shows that “leading in outflows” does not necessarily mean funds are leaving across the board.
The key issue is how the data was measured: the report does not adequately specify which platforms are covered, the exact measurement window, or whether inflows and outflows can be directly offset against each other. Therefore, it would be unwise to calculate net outflows on our own, or to treat these figures as net exchange deposits, ETF creations and redemptions, or new buying activity.
I’ll continue checking whether data measured on the same basis appears consistently, and will also consider trading volume and price action. A one-off ranking can offer a clue, but it is not enough to support a trading decision. This is solely my personal observation and does not constitute investment advice.
