Stablecoin payment volume reached about $482 billion in the first nine months, up roughly 45% year over year—supply barely moved, while turnover is accelerating.

Allium: About $305 billion in circulation at the end of September, up just around 0.4% year to date; payment count rose about 71%, to over 1 billion transactions. Stablecoin card spending was about $3.9 billion, roughly 10 times the same period last year. Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe are all adding stablecoin rails this week.

Back when NTU was looking at the payments layer, people were still arguing about whether there was a real use case. Now, on-chain dollars are being put to work in card payments and cross-border transactions—not just in PowerPoint slides.

Reply 1: Bullish—payments are the real foundation
Reply 2: Bearish—stagnant supply means not enough growth
Reply 3: Wait and see—watch how quickly card networks and banks roll it out
