How can you tell if we're in altseason?
An altseason happens when most altcoins outperform Bitcoin for weeks. The clearest sign: BTC dominance (its share of the total market) falls steadily while altcoin trading volume surges.
Another key indicator: if at least 75% of the top 50 cryptocurrencies outperform Bitcoin over 90 days, technically, you're already in altseason.
The rotation follows a pattern: first, large caps rise (ETH, BNB, SOL), then mid caps (DeFi, layer 2), and finally small caps and memecoins. When everything rises indiscriminately, you're already in the final phase—the most dangerous one.
Identifying the right phase lets you reposition your portfolio in time and avoid getting caught at the top.
