【ETH is choosing a direction, and this time I’m sitting on the sidelines】

I just took a quick look at the market. ETH is at $ 2360, down nearly 7% over the past seven days, with trading volume shrinking sharply. The Fear & Greed Index has fallen from a weekly average of 58 to 53, and sentiment is cooling. BTC’s market dominance has climbed to 60.2%, as funds flow into BTC and ETH gets left behind.

I’ve seen this kind of setup before. During the 2018 bear market, after BTC dominance rose and ETH traded sideways on declining volume, the market would often choose a direction. We’re at that point now.

My call: sit on the sidelines. It’s not that I’m afraid to trade; the signals just don’t support taking a large position.

The key level to watch is the $ 2200-2300 range. If it holds, the price will most likely move higher after consolidating. If it doesn’t, it’s time to cut losses and exit in the short term. For futures traders, chasing a long position here carries more risk than opportunity.

But what I want to talk about in this article isn’t the market action—it’s the logic behind it.

Stablecoin payments have grown 45% this year, and Visa and Mastercard are adding crypto payment rails. What does this mean in practice? It means ETH’s real-world use cases are expanding. In the past, people bought ETH either to speculate or to mine DeFi yields. Now there’s growing demand for real payments. The business case makes sense, and demand is changing.

So from a business perspective, I see this ETH downturn as a cyclical correction, not a collapse in fundamentals. A falling price doesn’t mean the ecosystem is broken.

That’s what I mean when I say: others discuss concepts; I focus on whether they can be put into practice.

One last question: What direction are your signals pointing at this level?
