📖 Lesson: How does the market hunt stop-loss orders? 🎯

Has gold ever hit your stop-loss, then turned around and moved in the direction you expected? 🤔

This is known in trading as:

🔥 Liquidity Sweep
Many traders open sell positions and place their stop-losses above 4150.

What might happen?
1️⃣ Gold rises above 4150.
2️⃣ Sellers’ stop-loss orders are triggered.
3️⃣ Breakout buy orders are triggered.
4️⃣ The price quickly falls back below 4150.
5️⃣ The decline begins, leaving late buyers trapped.

📊 Practical example:

Resistance: 4150
Temporary rise: 4155
Price returns to: 4145
Further decline: 4130

In this case, the price may have swept the liquidity sitting above the high.

⚠️ Does every breakout above a high mean a liquidity hunt?

No!

Sometimes the breakout is genuine, and the price keeps rising.

🎯 How can we protect ourselves?

✅ Don’t place your stop-loss randomly above highs or below lows.
✅ Don’t enter as soon as a level breaks.
✅ Wait for the price to return and for the direction to be confirmed.
✅ Watch for a change in market structure (CHOCH).
✅ Stick to sound money management.

💡 Remember:

The market doesn’t know where your personal stop-loss is, but clusters of orders around highs and lows can attract price movement.

📌 Question of the day:

If gold breaks above a previous high and then quickly falls back below it, should we buy immediately or wait for confirmation of a downward move?
