Chicago’s “regular army” officially entered the arena today: CME’s $BCH and $UNI futures launched today (October 19). The standard contracts are for 250 BCH and 10,000 UNI; the micro contracts are for 25 and 1,000, respectively. Two familiar names have joined the BTC, ETH, XRP, and SOL lineup.

Here’s the counterintuitive part: these two are widely regarded in crypto as “ancient coins.” BCH was the star of that fork drama back in the day, and UNI is a remnant of DeFi summer. Everyone thought their stories were over. Yet Wall Street picked them, saying institutional clients have a “strong need for regulated hedging tools.”

So tell me: has crypto grown up and finally earned “official approval,” or can old coins only get another lease on life by being absorbed into traditional finance? On the day of the announcement, BCH rocketed from $270 to $328 in 90 minutes. Now that the contracts are live, is institutional money really pouring in—or is this a “sell the news” rally waiting for you to buy the top?

Cast your vote: A. Official approval, a prelude to altcoin season / B. The good news is priced in; time to short
