Ornn raised about $33 million in a seed round led by a16z crypto, with participation from Galaxy and others. It’s building a GPU compute pricing index, trading, and hedging products. OCPI has also been featured on Bloomberg, with the broader thesis of treating compute power as a tradable commodity.

There’s plenty of excitement in the private market, but that doesn’t mean there’ll be an opportunity in the secondary market right away. I’m keeping it on my watchlist and will wait until the product launches, there’s a tradable asset, and the lockup rules are clear before making a move. A funding announcement isn’t a signal to jump in, and a $33M seed round isn’t a cue to chase it like a meme coin. First, distinguish private-market buzz from something you can actually buy on the secondary market. If there’s no tradable asset, don’t force it by chasing a substitute token. For now, it stays on the list.
