๐Ÿ‹ $BR Market-wide account long/short ratio: 1.45 (59.1% long / 40.9% short), up from 1.31 an hour ago.
If you want to know how large traders are positioning, many people look at the long/short ratio. But there are two different ways to calculate it.
The account long/short ratio is the number of accounts with a net long position divided by the number of accounts with a net short position. It counts accounts, not the size of their positions.
Some people use the account long/short ratio as a contrarian indicator, but this is just a rule of thumb, and it often doesn't work.
All data only describes market activity that has already happened. Prices can move in the opposite direction at any time.
