I think Grayscale made the right move here: if you want more people to gain exposure to AI tokens, you need to accommodate those who don’t want to buy and manage tokens themselves.

Republic’s page for Grayscale’s AI fund lists $TAO , $NEAR , RENDER, and FIL. Investors buy shares in the fund without having to custody the tokens themselves. The U.S. version of the page has a $2,500 minimum investment and requires investors to meet accredited investor criteria.

This doesn’t tell us how much money has come in. But it does solve a very practical problem: people who are bullish on this area can participate through a fund, with less hassle around token custody.

What I’m bullish on, then, is that AI assets now have another way to reach buyers. Beyond price discussions, how to buy and store them also affects whether people are willing to participate. Making this step easier has value in itself.
