$DOG is being delisted by Bitget.

Spot trading for DOG/USDT will be suspended at 18:00 on October 23. Deposits will be disabled first, while withdrawals will remain available until 18:00 on January 23 next year. The announcement was made on October 16, and DRIFT, RVV, SWEAT, and several others are included in the same batch.

The timing is interesting. Bitget had already announced on September 27 that it would delist DOG, but temporarily postponed the move. In early October, there was an issue with the wallet, and founder Leonidas publicly called for spot trading to be restored. Now withdrawals are back, but the delisting is still going ahead.

My take: for older assets like BRC-20 tokens, the risk has shifted from “nobody uses them on-chain” to “exchanges are dropping them one by one.” The assets themselves won’t disappear from the blockchain, but there are fewer places to trade them. Those are two different things—don’t conflate them.

One more observation: more than one exchange has halted spot trading for BRC-20 tokens over the past six months, and the reasons are generally given as “insufficient liquidity” or “strategic adjustments.” We see several announcements like this each year, but few people ever add them all up.

If you hold a BRC-20 token listed on only one exchange, would you move it out ahead of time, or just leave it where it is?
