What exactly does “non-fungible” mean?
Here’s how I understand it: if the metadata is stored on the project’s servers, the tokens may still exist after the servers go offline, but the content might no longer display.
Every fungible token is identical—for example, one ETH is no different from another. But every NFT is unique.
My current habit: before collecting an NFT, I check the collection’s contract address. There are plenty of fake collections, so don’t just go by the name and images.
Minting and trading NFTs on Ethereum require paying Gas with $ETH .
