Who writes price feeds on-chain?
Chainlink’s Data Feeds are a representative example of the push model: a group of independent nodes aggregates price quotes and writes them on-chain. Each Pyth feed includes a confidence interval, which indicates the degree of divergence among quotes from different publishers.
The advantage of the push model is that smart contracts can use the data straight away. The trade-off is that the oracle network must continuously pay Gas to push updates, so the update frequency cannot be increased at will.
$PYTH and $LINK are the tokens of the oracle networks Pyth and Chainlink, respectively. Current price: 0.07402.
