Let me put it bluntly: tomorrow (October 19) marks the 39th anniversary of Black Monday in 1987, when the Dow plunged 22.6% in a single day—the biggest one-day drop in history.

People on X are already posting “Black Monday coming?” Last Friday, the Nasdaq fell 2.15%, the VIX fear index surged 22% to 19.99, and WTI crude broke $101. U.S. stocks just wrapped up their worst week since June. The Friday before the 1987 crash, the S&P 500 also fell 5%—then Monday came and everything collapsed.

Over in crypto, $BTC was dragged down to 81,000 on Friday and is now going nowhere around 81,400, with $ETH 2410 playing dead. In a market that never closes, the weekend has instead become a safe haven—but when U.S. markets open tomorrow, will that haven still hold?

Let the debate begin:
A. It really happens tomorrow: 80,000 breaks first, then we’re in the 70s
B. It’s 2026—there are circuit breakers, and crypto has already hit the floor over the weekend. There’s nowhere left to fall
Which side are you on?
