Demand for Bitcoin ETFs remains shaky: outflows reached $82 million on Friday
The week ended much as it had unfolded: institutional investors continued to reduce their positions in the largest digital assets.
On Friday, net outflows from Bitcoin ETFs totaled $82.39 million. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $71.78 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC lost another $10.61 million. Trading volume reached $2.66 billion, bringing weekly Bitcoin ETF turnover to more than $10 billion. Net assets at the close stood at $104.29 billion.
That volume is significant. Investors weren’t simply leaving the market. They remained active while reducing their positions.
Over five trading sessions, Bitcoin ETFs lost approximately $228.6 million. A $175.62 million rebound on Tuesday and a small inflow of $5.06 million on Thursday were outweighed by redemptions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
As far as the price of Bitcoin is concerned, this suggests that institutional demand looks shaky rather than absent.
