📰 CRYPTO NEWS

Although the total supply of stablecoins is showing signs of stagnation, their use as a means of payment is exploding: according to data from analytics firm Allium, stablecoin payments have already reached $482 billion so far this year, a 45% jump compared with the previous period. This growth is being driven largely by the progress of financial giants like Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe, which are integrating crypto rails into their platforms to connect the digital world with traditional money. This means more and more people are using stablecoins for everyday transactions without needing to be “crypto natives,” expanding the market in a way that would have been hard to imagine not long ago. This figure matters because it shows that real adoption isn’t always reflected in asset prices, but in their practical utility. It’s worth asking: if stablecoins are already moving these volumes with the backing of the world’s largest payment networks, how close are we to the point where crypto stops being an alternative investment and becomes global financial infrastructure?
