BOOK 4 - PAGE 2: THE R$ 7,000 I SPREAD AROUND AND THE YOGA COIN THAT BROKE ME

I’m going to tell you the truth no guru ever tells you. The truth about the R$ 7,000.

I didn’t just have Bitcoin. I thought I was clever. I spread R$ 7,000 across 10 different coins on Binance. I figured the more coins I had, the better my chances of getting rich. A total beginner’s mistake.

One of them was OM. I’d look at the ticker and think of yoga, peace, meditation. I thought, "This one has the name of something good—it’s going to make me rich." Hahaha. Laughing now, crying back then.

This OM was one of the ones that fell the most.

In total, out of the 10 coins, I watched R$3,000 go up in smoke. Literally. R$3,000 that I had worked for, that I had saved, disappearing right before my eyes.

But hope didn't die. Deep down, mistakenly, I thought: "It'll come back. It’ll go up in value and I'll make a fortune." It was greed disguised as hope.

And the worst part: the more I fiddled, made moves, and switched coins, the more my capital just kept shrinking. Almost imperceptibly. R$50 here, R$100 there. Slowly bleeding away.

The time came when I thought: "I'm going to jump ship before it sinks for good." I sold everything. I was confused. Lost. Ashamed of myself.

And there was another one. LUNC. That one trapped me. I had never been stuck in a coin before, but I was stuck in LUNC for two years. Two years with my money tied up, watching it melt away every day. It's the worst feeling in the world. You make a move and lose even more. It's painful, discouraging, demoralizing, frustrating. You see your capital tied up and losing more and more to the market, and there's nothing you can do.

I jumped ship at a loss. It hurt a lot.

But there, feeling lost, I made the decision that changed everything: instead of giving up completely, I decided to change my strategy. To study what had happened. Why it had happened.

It took two to three years to make this drastic change. Two to three years to understand that holding 10 coins is like being in a casino. That a coin with a fancy name won't make you rich. That constantly switching coins only makes you lose.

Today, I have just one strategy: Bitcoin, DCA every month, and four years of patience. Simple. Boring. And profitable.
