No. 1 on Square’s trending searches, but the price hasn’t caught up?
$ASTER is at the top of Square’s trending search list tonight, but its 24-hour spot price on OKX is down about 1.4%. It traded in a narrow range of 0.691–0.716 all day, while the perpetual futures funding rate was near neutral (about +0.005%).
My take: High discussion volume doesn’t mean people are chasing the price. When hype and price diverge, the price could catch up if volume follows—or return to its previous range once the buzz fades. I’ll first watch to see whether the daily low at 0.69 holds. If it breaks, I wouldn’t use trending searches as a reason to buy.
$DOT, also on the list at No. 3, is weaker: down about 4.5% over 24 hours and hovering near its daily low of 1.08.
Risk to watch: Trending searches reflect attention, not buying pressure. Breakouts after a tight consolidation can happen quickly, so plan your stop-loss before opening leveraged positions.
