On October 18, PANews, citing CoinDesk, reported that institutions have split Bitcoin’s $BTC year-end outlook into two scenarios. Bitwise Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen put the possibility of a breakout above $100,000 by the end of 2026 on the table, citing continued buying by ETFs and companies, concerns over inflation and government debt, and a clearer regulatory outlook. LO:TECH Head of Research Adam Morgan McCarthy, meanwhile, sees Bitcoin most likely trading between $85,000 and $95,000 at year-end, with inflationary pressures and Fed policy still viewed as headwinds. For Bitcoin to reclaim $100,000, markets would first need to scale back expectations of a Fed rate hike in December; falling oil prices and easing inflation were flagged as possible catalysts. The current price is 81963.37 USDT, up 0.47% over 24 hours. There’s still a gap to $100,000, but the price isn’t far from the lower end of the cautious range either. Both targets remain projections for now—which one will the data revise first?
