$3,866 in losses and $29,750,000 in profits: the strange math of a mysterious whale
Four months ago, four new wallets appeared on the crypto exchange Hyperliquid. No name, no face. Since then, their owner has made 15 trades and earned $29.75 million.
He lost exactly once: $3,866 on a one-minute short on Ether. Almost all of his profits ($28.2 million) came from Bitcoin longs.
Now he’s back in the game. As the market shook and $688 million in longs were liquidated in 24 hours, the whale opened a long position of 24,000 ETH (about $60.7 million). The position is already up $2.6 million.
There’s a catch: two of his old positions are still in the red (by $1.9 million and $97,000). So the “perfect” record applies only to closed trades.
Who is he: a genius, an insider, or just lucky? It’s unknown. The data comes from Lookonchain, and the claim that the wallets belong to one person is analysts’ assumption.
Don’t try this at home, and don’t take this as investment advice.
