Knowledge Notes | Bitcoin Spot ETFs
① In January 2024, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the first Bitcoin spot ETFs, which subsequently began trading.
② Before spot ETFs, the U.S. already had ETFs tracking Bitcoin futures, which began trading in October 2021.
③ Holding ETFs and holding Bitcoin directly each have their own advantages: ETFs save you the hassle of managing private keys, but charge management fees and trade only during U.S. stock market hours.
