I realized while chatting with friends that a lot of people haven’t quite got this straight.
Most Bitcoin addresses are generated by hashing a public key or script and then encoding it. Common formats start with 1, 3, or bc1.
There’s no central authority that can reset your private key. The blockchain only recognizes valid signatures, so anyone who gets hold of your private key can transfer the assets at the corresponding address.
By the way: $BTC reports 82026.32 (24h +0.53%).
