MSCI thinks hoarding crypto isn't a real business

Saylor went to Bloomberg to plead his case: oil, gas, land, and machinery all count as capital, but Bitcoin doesn’t. MSCI’s bias is plain to see. The new rules take effect after market close on November 30, and the list will be announced on November 11.

What gets cut is passive money tracking the index. Once the list is out, global index funds will mechanically reduce their holdings according to weightings, putting downward pressure on Strategy’s net-asset premium and taking away one source of marginal buying for spot BTC. The big players can use this as an excuse to push prices down and test liquidation levels. A rally followed by a pullback is easier than a clean breakout.

For those holding MSTR: cut your losses and get out early, or hold on until the list comes out on November 11?
