Samsung Wallet is about to add USDC directly, with Coinbase providing the underlying custody infrastructure. The rollout will reach 82 million Galaxy devices in the US and begin in the last week of October. Users won’t need to download another crypto app—they’ll be able to add a US dollar stablecoin balance directly in their wallet and transfer it to bank accounts and wallets in more than 60 countries.

This brings stablecoins straight into a system-level entry point on phones, rather than trying to teach users to download an exchange app. Payments come first; trading can wait.
