When asked, “Customer service” reaches out to you first—how can you tell if it’s real or fake?
My usual answer is: If they claim they can help recover money you’ve been scammed out of but ask you to pay upfront, it’s probably another scam. You can usually check legitimate account issues yourself in the official app or on the official website. If they insist you do things through a messaging app, that’s suspicious in itself.
