If you put a pair of tokens into a pool, why do you also receive extra platform tokens?
In 2020, SushiSwap used SUSHI rewards to attract Uniswap liquidity providers to move their liquidity over. This approach is often called a “vampire attack.”
When calculating your yield farming returns, factor in both impermanent loss and the drop in the reward token’s price. Looking only at the annualized return shown on the page can make your estimate too high.
$SUSHI is SushiSwap’s token. SushiSwap got its start in 2020 through liquidity mining. It’s currently at 0.2166.
