📉 Bitcoin has been hovering around $81,000 for almost a week. So who’s really wearing whom down—the bulls or the bears?
Bitcoin is currently trading at $81,600 ($BTC ), basically flat over the past 24 hours (-0.06%). Technically, the price is hovering near the 50-day moving average. It recently dipped below $81,000, briefly wicking down to around $80,400, before buyers quickly stepped in and pushed it back up. This suggests that $80,400–$81,000 is a level the bulls must defend at all costs. Holding it twice in a row shows there’s still support below.
To the upside, the first resistance is at $85,000, the top of last week’s trading range. If the price breaks through decisively on strong volume and holds above that level, the next target is $87,000. On the other hand, a break below the $80,000 mark could open the door to a deeper pullback.
On the news front, Fed President Williams said there’s no need to raise rates again before 2027. A weaker dollar has given risk assets some breathing room. But the real direction will depend on the upcoming U.S. inflation data: hotter-than-expected figures could revive rate-hike expectations and put the bears in the driver’s seat; cooler data could give the bulls room to run.
Ethereum is also fluctuating around $2,400 ($ETH ), down 1% over the past 24 hours. It held the key $2,495 support level earlier this week before pulling back. In the short term, watch whether it can reclaim $2,500; otherwise, it may just keep grinding along with Bitcoin.
⚠️ Just my personal opinion. DYOR and be mindful of the risks.
After next week’s inflation data comes out, what do you think Bitcoin will break first: $85,000 or $80,000? Let’s discuss in the comments 👇
