A $2 million long position in SanDisk (SNDK) got forcibly liquidated on Binance in the middle of the night. The order book was paper-thin and collapsed straight through—then Micron (MU) plunged too. Within 1.8 seconds, 10 addresses slammed IOC sell orders across six chip perpetuals on Hyperliquid, opening new shorts. SanDisk and SK hynix each had over $10 million drained from them. In Binance’s first minute, SanDisk traded $21.9 million; over on Trade.xyz, it was only $3.1 million—money piles up where the blade swings.
A 24/7 market? Give me a break. This is a weekend hunting ground: Wall Street’s closed, spot has no anchor, and the loudest voice sets the price. If spot and futures prices are miles apart when the market opens Monday, who reimburses the money liquidated tonight?
Pick a side in the comments: A. Futures will automatically fall in line when spot opens Monday; those liquidations were deserved. B. With futures liquidity this awful, trading U.S. stock perpetuals on the weekend is just asking to get rekt.
