San Francisco-based AIsa announced on Friday that it had completed an extension of its seed round. Tether and HIVEN came on board as strategic investors. The company has raised more than $9 million to date.
Earlier investors include Alibaba and Sumitomo Corporation. Silicon Valley’s Draper was also on the list. This round adds two more industry players.
The company is building a settlement layer for enterprise AI agents. Agents need to discover external data and call models and software. Each call is billed based on usage. Permissions, spending, and transaction records are brought together in a governed network.
The founder put it plainly: agents need trusted information. They also need a governable payment channel. Neither is built into the models.
Tether’s money comes from interest on U.S. Treasury bills. Its net operating profit in the second quarter was $1.5 billion. Returns on its reserve assets helped fund this investment.
In crypto, stablecoins are moving upstream into machine payments. USDT’s settlement network is becoming the cash register for AI agents. Do you think agents will settle payments with one another in stablecoins? Share your thoughts in the comments.
