Stop-Limit vs Stop-Market 🎯
🔥 Even after the Stop Price is hit, execution and price can differ — it’s important to understand the difference between these two order types!
🔴 Stop-Market
A Market Order is placed as soon as the Stop Price is triggered.
Execution is prioritized, but the exact price isn’t guaranteed.
Slippage can occur in volatile markets.
🟡 Stop-Limit
A Limit Order is placed when the Stop Price is hit.
You get price control, but the order isn’t guaranteed to fill.
In a fast-moving market, the order may remain unfilled.
📊 Example
The price of $BTC is $100,000:
Stop-Market: A market sell order is triggered at $98,000.
Stop-Limit: $98,000 trigger, $97,900 limit price — the order will fill only if matching buyers are available.
🧠 Golden Rule:
Stop-Market prioritizes execution; Stop-Limit prioritizes price control.
