The breakout window waits for no one. $PORTAL is showing clear signs of short-term weakness. The 4-hour and 1-hour charts are both trading below their moving averages, and every rebound gets knocked back—the sellers are clearly taking the initiative. The daily chart is still moving within a range, but we’re focused on the short-term structure. If the hourly chart can’t reclaim key resistance, the bears still have a shot.
That moving average overhead is the dividing line. If the price can’t break back above it, a move lower becomes more likely. Personally, I’d rather look for shorting opportunities on a rebound like this than chase the range and try to call a bottom. Of course, if the hourly chart truly holds above that level, this thesis has to be scrapped—the market is always bigger than our ideas.
