How does a cross-chain bridge move coins to another chain? Many people can't answer!
A common cross-chain method is “lock and mint”: assets are locked by the bridge on the source chain, and an equivalent amount of wrapped assets is minted on the destination chain.
The value of wrapped assets depends on the bridge itself: if something goes wrong with the assets locked on the source chain, the wrapped tokens on the destination chain may lose their peg.
If you're unfamiliar with a product, it's best to steer clear at first. Try it with a small amount before deciding.
