The market is consolidating into the weekend, with BTC retreating to around $81.6K. ETF outflows and inflation pressures continue to weigh on risk appetite. Uptober has yet to deliver.

📰 Today's Highlights

1️⃣ U.S. inflation remains the market's main focus
September CPI rose to 3.7% year over year, above expectations; core CPI was around 2.6% year over year. Markets are beginning to reassess the Fed's policy path ahead, but an October rate hike is not a foregone conclusion. Policy expectations for December are also worth watching.

2️⃣ Spot BTC and ETH ETFs see renewed outflows
On October 16, U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded net outflows of about $82.4M, while ETH ETFs saw net outflows of about $69.7M. BTC outflows mainly came from IBIT. A single day's fund flows reflect demand on that day and do not indicate future price direction.

3️⃣ DTCC advances real-world asset tokenization
The DTCC Tokenization Service is planned to launch this month, initially covering 25 securities, including stocks, ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries, with expected integration into the Canton and Besu networks. The relevant assets will be backed 1:1 by securities held by DTC, with plans to expand to Stellar and Circle's Arc in the future. Bringing traditional financial infrastructure on-chain remains a trend worth watching over the long term.

4️⃣ Solana expands into the Chinese market
Solana held its Accelerate China event in Shanghai, with follow-up events planned in Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing. Restrictions on crypto trading in China remain in place, so ecosystem outreach and regulatory boundaries will continue to draw attention.

5️⃣ A look at the Binance ecosystem
BNB is currently around $721, down about 1.3% over the past 24 hours. During a market correction, in addition to price, it's worth watching BNB Chain's ecosystem development, developer activity, and actual on-chain demand rather than chasing short-term hype.

📌 Market View

BTC has remained in a pullback this month. Inflation, ETF flows, and expectations for Fed policy are creating short-term pressure, while institutional tokenization developments such as DTCC's offer a long-term industry narrative. For now, the market looks to be in a cautious consolidation phase, with no clear signs of a trend reversal yet.
