October 18 Koi Daily Report:

1. $BTC All I can say is, BTC is really resilient—just as I expected. It’s back at 82K; only if it holds there will it have a chance to push up to 85K again. A chance, at least;

2. $ETH No major change at 2,400; continuing to trade sideways.

3. SOL is moving sideways around 100. It won’t turn around unless it gets above 110. Wait and see.

4. Lighter announced it will hold its Q3 investor conference call on October 21;

I’m fully bullish now!

5. Iran’s foreign minister reiterated the seven-day transit plan: the next move depends on the United States;

6. Musk: Admits he has “somewhat strayed off course” in political affairs;

7. A chance to “farm by hand” in the final week? Variational is suspected of activating its trading API next Friday;

What do you all think?

8. Nine companies oppose OKXICE trading their tokenized stocks, and Nasdaq opts out;

9. Deutsche Bank plans to launch institutional-grade crypto custody, initially for professional clients in Germany;

10. Frgmnt co-founder says stablecoins cannot fully escape the risks of traditional banks;

11. With $2.3 billion in outstanding balances, Coinbase is advancing crypto-backed loans alongside the on-chain rollout of bank deposits;

12. Strategy remains in the MSCI index as MSCI tightens its review rules for Bitcoin treasury companies;

13. Grayscale and Republic launch three crypto-focused funds, with a minimum investment starting at $2,500;

14. The meme coins of the past few days: $AGT, $Q, $ICNT. Could ICNT have exited the queue early?

15. Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès accuses Ledger’s CEO of mishandling a hardware wallet supply-chain attack;

---------------

In the primary market, new narratives on the SOL chain can produce coins that run up tenfold or more, and some old tokens from a few days ago are coming back to life. The BSC chain feels like it’s copying SOL, with old tokens moving too, just at lower market caps. There are occasional money-making opportunities, so overall it’s not bad; the Robinhood chain has gone cold again.

In the secondary market, just as I expected, strong tokens like BTW, Q, and SAND are rallying. The other altcoins are hard to be optimistic about. All I can say is, it’s just too tough for retail traders. Better not to play than to play. Liquidity has dropped to a low point—who knows when it’ll pick up again?
