$BTC is stuck at the awkward level of 81,885. I’m choosing to sit on the sidelines, but I’m already leaning bearish.

Look at this market: only 4 of the 13 coins are up, and market breadth is just 30.8%. This kind of “dead” market is even more frustrating than a sharp crash. The worst part is that $WLD plunged straight to -5.16%, $SUI also fell -1.82%, while $BTC managed only a slight gain of 0.49%. This divergence suggests that capital hasn’t really entered the market—it’s just limping along in a zero-sum game. Over on ETH, the long-to-short position ratio is as high as 3.09. Longs are packed in like a pressure cooker, ready to blow at the slightest disturbance.

The funding rate at +0.0100% looks normal, but BTC open interest fell 0.53% in one hour, suggesting that longs are quietly retreating. I don’t think this is a shakeout; it looks more like big players testing support below.

If $BTC falls below the psychological level of 81,000, I’ll try a small short position, with a stop-loss at 82,500. If it really drops, my first target will be 80,000; if the breakdown accelerates, I’ll look toward 79,000. On the other hand, if it can hold above 82,500 on strong volume and break higher, then my previous view is invalidated. I’ll drop the idea of shorting—but until then, I trust weakening positions, not a hollow price rise.

Who is $WLD ’s plunge warning?

As always, DYOR.
