Suppose you have a $BTC buy order placed at 80,800 USDT. The low came within about 20 of your order, then the price rose again. Should you raise your price and chase it? I don’t recommend paying more just to make up for missing this opportunity.

As of 10:54 Beijing time on October 18, the 24-hour low was about 80,820, and the current price was about 81,778. That 20 was the gap between your buy order and the low; chasing now means paying about 1.2% more than you originally planned. You should judge based on the latter difference, because that’s the increase in cost you’d have to accept now.

You should reassess whether your original reasons for buying are worth paying a higher price. If you’re only feeling frustrated because you “almost got in,” I’d keep the original limit price and accept that the order might not fill.
