A whale opened a $187 million long position with maximum leverage, only to be taught a lesson by its own position.

PANews, October 18 — According to on-chain analyst Ember, the whale’s 4,890 ETH long position was liquidated at $2,356 during the drop at 5 a.m. today. The position was worth $11.74 million.

$2,356 was also ETH’s low during the drop early this morning. Leverage magnifies positions, not judgment.

Observation 1: The liquidation occurred at the low of the drop, indicating passive selling pressure near that price.
Observation 2: The 4,890 ETH position was worth $11.74 million. The liquidation size and price level can be compared with subsequent price movements.

Are you more focused on support at the liquidation price, or on whether more highly leveraged positions will be liquidated?
