A Fairshake-affiliated group has added about $7 million in spending opposing Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, bringing its total opposition spending for the 2026 cycle to about $46.66 million. According to Foresight News, Decrypt reported that Defend American Jobs recently spent about $5.2 million on media placements and about $1.95 million on follow-up expenses, including production costs.

The spending also includes support for Brown’s Republican opponent, Jon Husted. Brown has long been skeptical of cryptocurrency and previously chaired the Senate Banking Committee. Fairshake spent about $40 million opposing Brown during his 2024 election campaign, which he lost.

The latest spending followed Fairshake’s announcement on October 5 that it would support 32 House members. Fairshake had previously planned to spend at least $30 million opposing Brown; its spending has now surpassed that amount.
