Looking back at my purchase on $NIGHT : on 2026/7/22, the price was 0.019. I bought 400U worth, around 20,000 coins. That same day, it was bridged and minted on BSC $BNB , and the price immediately dropped 45%.
Thinking back to why I wasn’t willing to swap $ADA for NIGHT at the time:
1. If an altcoin rally came, money would also flow into large-cap projects, so it would be hard for small caps to lead.
2. From the perspective I had at the time, it had fallen from 0.1 to 0.01—about 85%. There was no guarantee it wouldn’t fall another 50%.
3. I also had no funds available at the time.
So my view has changed:
1. Narrative and real-world use cases >>> the old idea of pumping altcoins
2. If there are no issues with the project, much of the decline is probably due to the market overreacting.
3. I should maintain a healthy cash reserve so I’m always able to buy when there are steep discounts.
Of course, it’s unlikely that this exact opportunity will come around again, but similar situations will arise. When they do, I’ll make the right choice based on my own judgment. Would you buy next time?
