$BTC’s 24-hour change was almost zero, but it saw a clear pullback early in the morning. For anyone looking to spend less time watching the market, I care more about how that played out.

At 9:18 a.m. Beijing time on October 18, BTC was up about 0.03% over 24 hours. But the hourly closes around 5 a.m., 6 a.m., and 9 a.m. were approximately 81658, 81139, and 81543 USDT, respectively: first dropping by more than 500, then recovering most of the loss.

A price near breakeven only means the prices at the two ends of the comparison window are close. Those who needed to sell along the way, or had already reached their planned exit conditions, may not have been able to wait for the rebound. The eventual recovery doesn’t erase the interim pullback.

So if I want to check the market less often, I’d first size my position and set exit conditions based on the pullback I can tolerate. A near-zero change in the gain/loss column isn’t enough to make me comfortable increasing my position.
