Neither chasing highs nor buying the dip: the Roadster 2.0 showed off a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 0.81 seconds, while $TSLA still closed down 2.13% at $354.72 after surging 5% premarket.
Tesla just demoed the new Roadster, equipped with SpaceX cold-gas thrusters, but pushed mass production back to 2028.
The stock fell more than 7% over the week, wiping out about $320 billion in market value year to date. Next Wednesday (October 21), it also faces the major test of its third-quarter earnings report.
I think the market doesn’t need more flashy halo cars right now. What it needs is cash flow that can improve gross margins immediately. Promises about 2028 won’t save next week’s earnings report.
At this point, I’ll keep watching and won’t try to catch a falling knife. Before earnings, I’ll only turn bullish on a recovery if the stock regains the previous high of $368 on a surge in volume.
If it decisively breaks below Friday’s intraday low of $349.30, short-term support will be invalidated, so I’ll continue to stay cautious and watch from the sidelines.
Before the third-quarter earnings report comes out on October 21, do you think $TSLA will hold $350 and rebound, or keep testing lower on the earnings report?
